Nurhan (Nora) leads DG’s portfolio of programs and projects, ensuring high performance standards and enhancing cutting-edge, evidence-based programming. She has 15 years of experience working at international development organizations, including nearly a decade at Counterpart International where she managed projects on civil society strengthening, education, economic growth, and good governance throughout Europe and Asia as well as in post-conflict countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste, and Sri Lanka. Recently, she’s worked on digital security and transformation projects and expanded her interests to include the application of digital innovation to achieve sustainable results for local communities and to enhance good governance practices at the institutional level.
Nora has an M.A. in Development Studies with a regional focus on Central Asia and the Caucasus from the Humboldt Universität in Berlin and a B.A. in Business Administration from The George Washington University. She speaks German, Turkish, and Uzbek.
