Mbaita Maka

Mbaita is a Zambia-based Program Manager currently leading on DG’s Digital Advisory Support Services for Accelerated Rural Transformation (DAS) program and actively contributing to the Tobacco Control Data Initiative (TCDI) as a Country Lead for Zambia and Project Manager for Zambia and South Africa. She is a development finance specialist with experience in developing and implementing sustainable solutions to address barriers of access to social services.

Mbaita has worked extensively in health financing, particularly in the areas of public financial management and performance measurement. She has also led in the successful scale-up of planning and budgeting reform and the implementation of results-based financing.

Mbaita has a Master of Philosophy in Development Finance from Stellenbosch Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Town.
