Ernest Osei-Assibey

Ernest leads Development Gateway’s Soil Nutrition Roadmap initiative in Ghana, overseeing stakeholder engagement, local partner coordination, and project implementation aligned with national priorities. He has over 15 years of experience in agricultural governance and policy systems and has supported fertilizer regulatory reforms across West Africa.

Prior to joining DG, Ernest served as Team Lead for Policy and Regulatory Systems on IFDC’s EnGRAIS project, where he supported fertilizer policy reforms in ECOWAS countries, including Fertilizer Sector Reviews and Action Plan development as part of countries’ commitment to the Nairobi Declaration on Soil Health and Fertilizers. He also co-led the development and digitization of Ghana’s Fertilizer Regulatory Framework and Expansion Program in his previous work with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Ghana.

Ernest holds a Master of Philosophy in Environmental Protection and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and has vast project management experience and training. He speaks English and has a working knowledge of French. He is deeply committed to innovative and data-driven approaches that enhance soil health and farmer livelihoods.
