Strengthening Accountability
DG works with governments to build sustainable, user-friendly data systems that support evidence-based decision-making. Through efforts in anticorruption, fiscal transparency, and extractives, we develop tools that make data more accessible and usable, empowering institutions and communities to strengthen accountability, improve public financial management, and better understand the impacts of natural resource use.
A Flagship DG Offering
Through the Aid Management Program (AMP), DG is the leading global provider of Aid Information Management Systems (AIMS). The program includes not just software, but also training, ongoing support, and a peer network of other AMP country partners.
Reducing Corruption & Increasing Transparency
Each year, governments spend trillions of dollars on public procurement of goods and services. Much of that is lost to financial waste or corruption. Effective collection and analysis of procurement data can streamline public procurement processes, reduce waste and graft, and bring citizens confidence that their governments are spending tax money wisely. Open contracting fosters stronger links between governments and citizenry.
How can we ensure a country’s natural resources actually benefit citizens?
Greater openness around natural resource management builds public engagement and accountability. DG aims to make extractives data compelling, interactive, and seamless – to enable technical and non-technical users alike to understand the impacts of extractive activities on communities and to increase data use in decision-making.

AMP Through the Ages
15 years ago, AMP development was led by and co-designed with multiple partner country governments and international organizations. From a single implementation, AMP grew into 25 implementations globally. Through this growth, DG has learned crucial lessons about building systems that support the use of data for decision-making.

DG’s Open Contracting Portal Designated as a Digital Public Good
Digital Public Goods Alliance designated DG’s Open Contracting Portal as a digital public good in September 2022. The Portal provides procurement analytics that can be used to improve procurement efficiency and, in turn, reduce corruption and increase impact.

Understanding Stakeholder Needs: Extractives Industry Data Portal Assessment in West Africa
Starting in June 2018, DG assessed the extractive industry data landscape in Senegal, Nigeria, and Guinea. The goal was to determine the feasibility of designing and implementing an Extractives Industry Data Portal (EIDP) for each country. A major finding is that extractive industry financial flow data is no longer enough. Stakeholders want information that will help them advocate for protecting the environment, providing youth and educational services, and ensuring access to health facilities in the community.
