Mr. Mark Fleeton has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Development Gateway Foundation, an independent spin-off of the World Bank. The Development Gateway’s mission is to leverage the Internet for the benefit of people in developing countries, providing online solutions to strengthen good governance, improve the effectiveness of international aid and support local and global knowledge-sharing initiatives. Morocco to Deploy Electronic Government Procurement System with Support of Development Gateway, Government of Italy, and World Bank

The Government of Morocco has agreed to partner with the Development Gateway Foundation and the Government of Italy to deploy a new e-government system that will streamline public procurement processes, increase competitive bidding and save money for Moroccan taxpayers. A letter of intent was signed today at the International Forum of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Strategies and Investment, in Marrakesh.
