Development Gateway Extends Support in Tanzania

The Aid Management Program was first introduced in Tanzania in 2007. Working with the Tanzanian Ministry of Finance, the software platform was installed in 2008 and government officers and development partners trained to effectively use system. The platform now hosts over 1800 projects and holds historical aid records from 2001 to date.

Development Gateway Extends Support in Ethiopia

Seven years ago, Development Gateway designed and piloted the Aid Management Program with local and international partners and the Ethiopian Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MOFED). Today, AMP is embedded in Ethiopia’s aid effectiveness action plan and MOFED has declared AMP the official government system for capturing and reporting on aid activities.

Nepal AMP is a “Very Effective Tool for Government Aid Planning” According to UNDP

The Developing Capacities for Effective Aid Management and Coordination (DCEAMC) project commenced in February 2009 with one of its objectives to put in place a transparent and functioning aid information management system for Nepal. The project is managed by the Foreign Aid Coordination Division (FACD) of the Ministry of Finance in Nepal and funded by UNDP, DFID and DANIDA. Key Government partners include the Ministries of Education, Health and Local Development and the National Planning Commission.

Honduras is First AMP Country in Central America

Honduras recently became the first country in Central America and the second middle-income country to use the Aid Management Platform (AMP, or Plataforma de Gestión de la Ayuda in Spanish). During this initial pilot phase of the project, eleven people from the government’s Secretaría Técnica de Planificación y Cooperación Externa (SEPLAN) have been certified to use the system and four people have become certified administrators.

Story from the Field: AMP Workshop’

This Story from the Field comes from Djamila Kerim, a Development Gateway Senior Associate working on the Aid Management Program:This year, I was able to attend the AMP workshop for a second time. The program is growing both with respect to the number of people participating, and the scope of activities we are discussing. This year, there were more than 90 participants from more than 20 countries. Many of them are beginning to see the potential to use AMP as much more than a computer system and more as a process of managing aid flows effectively.

Fourth AMP Best Practices Workshop Held In Dakar

The 4th Aid Management Platform (AMP) Best Practices Workshop was held from Jan. 24-26 in Dakar, Senegal. More than 90 people attended from nineteen AMP countries and several observer countries (you can view photos on our new Flickr photostream).
