Developing a Local Level Data Inventory
Working with local partners in Côte d'Ivoire, our DCDJ program built a searchable list of hyper-local datasets across the country related to topics of community interest. Through this inventory, local officials, clinicians, community groups, researchers, and others can contribute to and access information on datasets in the community.

Tobacco Control Data Initiative – Nigeria Assessment
Development Gateway conducted a stakeholder assessment in Nigeria for the Tobacco Control Data Initiative (TCDI.) During the assessment, we identified priorities, needs, and data gaps. We then validated these findings with stakeholders during a workshop at the end of 2020, and will use the information to build a dashboard to support decision-making.
Increasing Data Quality at the Clinic to National Level in Côte d’Ivoire
Murielle Ettiene, a DCDJ Data Fellow in Côte d'Ivoire, was placed with the National AIDS Control Program. Because her role was to evaluate and improve the data ecosystem, she had the flexibility to provide facility-level training focused on data related to systematic care.

Understanding Fertilizer Markets through the VIFAA Kenya Dashboard
Michael Kamau, Intervention Manager for Agricultural Inputs, at Kenya Market Trust, explains how decision-making in the fertilizer sector requires data on how fertilizer markets are functioning. The new Visualizing Insights on Fertilizer for African Agriculture (VIFAA) Dashboard for Kenya provides a detailed picture of the fertilizer sector to support decision-making at all levels – and ultimately, to ensure fertilizer is available for smallholder farmers when and where they need it.

For each theme, we’ll explore who are the key data users, the decisions they make, the most important data gaps, and the crucial risks of data (mis)use.
