Le Togo produit son premier rapport sur l’aide grâce à la PGA

Dans le souci d’améliorer la gestion de l’aide et la transparence dans son utilisation, le gouvernement togolais a choisi de mettre en place la Plateforme de Gestion de l’Aide (PGA) comme système de gestion de l’information de l’aide au développement. M. Essobouzou Awade, Coordonnateur National de la Déclaration de Paris au sein du Ministère de la Planification, du Développement et des Affaires Territoriales (MPDAT) du Togo, dans son intervention, a mis l’accent sur les réalisations effectuées avec la PGA depuis la mise en place du système en 2011.

Where Does $1 Billion in Official Development Assistance Go in Nepal?

On April 16, the Nepal Ministry of Finance (MoF) formally launched its second-annual Development Cooperation Report (DCR) for fiscal year 2012. The DCR, which aggregates and analyzes information from the Nepal Aid Management Platform (AMP), dissects and displays for the public how $US 1 billion in development assistance – representing 26% of the national budget - was used in Nepal over the past year.

Open China Data is a Disruptive Gateway Drug

On Monday, AidData released the largest Open Data cache of Chinese development finance in Africa. The Chinese Development Finance in Africa database contains nearly 1,700 official finance projects in 50 African countries, totaling over $70 billion in reported financial commitments.

La République Démocratique du Congo décentralise l’utilisation de la PGAI au niveau provincial

La Constitution du 18 février 2006 a adopté la décentralisation comme mode de gestion des affaires de l’Etat à travers trois paliers du pouvoir (central, provincial et local) et prévoit le passage de l’Etat congolais de 11 à 26 provinces. De plus, le Forum national de haut niveau sur l’efficacité de l’aide qui a eu lieu en 2009 à Kinshasa a permis d’identifier un besoin réel au niveau des provinces de disposer d’informations fiables et en temps réel sur les projets mis en œuvre dans leur circonscription.

China’s Development Finance to Africa: A Media-Based Approach to Data Collection

How big is China’s aid to Africa? Does it complement or undermine the efforts of traditional donors? China releases little information and outside estimates of the size and nature of Chinese aid vary widely. In an effort to overcome this problem, AidData has compiled a database of thousands of media reports on Chinese-backed projects in Africa from 2000-2011. The database includes information on 1,673 projects in 51 African countries, and $75 billion in commitments of official finance.

Geocoding and Opening Aid Information in Nepal with USAID Support

Announcing the Plataforma de Gestión de la Cooperación

Today the Government of Honduras is launching their Aid Management Platform (Plataforma de Gestión de la Cooperación - PGC). rnrnThe PGC contains information on all external cooperation projects in the country, and allows citizens to interact with the information through public reports, documents, maps, and graphics. This marks the first time the Government of Honduras has made information like this publicly available online.

Our Vision for Citizen Engagement

Recently in Washington and London, we participated in Citizen Voices, a global conference on citizen engagement for enhanced development impact with the World Bank. At both events, there was much talk about the role of technology in empowering citizen feedback loops to improve development outcomes.
